We are Mikey's Dog Rescue CIC, a "Not For Profit" Community Interest Company, based in the heart of Dorset.

Mikey's Dog Rescue CIC - A Dorset Based Foster Dog Rescue

We operate a foster based dog rescue, meaning we do not have kennels, but instead have a network of dedicated dog loving volunteers who are kind enough to open their homes and their hearts to dogs in need of temporary shelter while we find them their "forever homes".

We only rescue dogs from within the UK and never import them from overseas or accept dogs from rescues or shelters who do. The majority of our rescued dogs are from Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and surrounding counties but we will occasionally help dogs from further afield.

The Rescue Lifecycle

Surrender
Following an initial assessment a dog in need is surrendered to our care. These dogs come from a variety of circumstances, but what they all have in common is that they need a new loving home.

Foster
Every dog is carefully matched to an appropriate foster in our network, and will generally stay with the same foster until they are successfully adopted. During their stay, ongoing training, support and assessment takes place.

Adopt
When a dog is ready to find their "forever home" we start to accept applications from people looking to offer a permanent loving home. When we find the right applicant for the right dog, adoption takes place.
